Kardelen Portraits

Kardelen Portraits was founded in 2011 by photographer Katye Ross. Katye is a young and vibrant photographer whose energy and spunk brings a smile to your face. Her sparkling personality helps her clients feel comfortable and at ease in front of the camera. Katye got her start way back in college, spending hours in a darkroom developing black and white film. she moved on to study digital photography and retouching at the hallmark institute of photography. Katye uses the knowledge she’s learned to bring a fun, hip, and happy atmosphere to every shoot she does. Outside of photography, Katye has a huge passion for music and you’d be hard to find her without a pair of headphones and her iPod. she loves going to shows at small venues and often takes her camera along, to capture the emotion and fun only a rock show can bring. So wondering what Kardelen means? Kardelen is Turkish for snowdrop. The snowdrop is a flower native to Europe that begins to bud during winter, typically before March, and the flower is used to celebrate the sign of spring. Katye's favorite season is winter because you get to bundle with lots of layers, scarves, and warm toasty boots, but there is always a happiness that comes along with the beginning of spring.
