Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Professionalism is a must. Someone who has a friendly nature and outgoing personality. Who is unobtrusive and knows when to take the shot rather than clicking off hundreds to get one. Has a solid background in photography with enough experience to shoot speakers in low light situations where they don't wash out the powerpoint presentation.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. What do you look for beyond price? A photographer's portfolio will not give you a proper prospective of their work. Ask to see photos from entire events. Then look for their consistency and choice of view. Is that what fits your marketing needs? Can you see using this for your company's website? Or just something that does out in the latest company Tweet?
But then, you can also have both!
Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A. How soon can your photos be made available?
What kinds of publishing rights come with the photos and what credit needs to be given to the photographer?
Most photographers know others in the industry, so ask them if they know videographers, florists, designers, or the services you may need for your event.

A. Artistically - I believe my pictures stand out because I am able to capture the energy of the environment and subjects. A. For everyone, having their picture taken is a remarkably personal thing. However briefly the encounter, I always enjoy meeting the people I take pictures of, learning about them and their perspectives on life.
