I took a couple of lessons with Angel to brush up on my violin technique, and they were absolutely worth it! He was able to quickly pinpoint a few areas that could use improvement, and helped me fix them. He has a kind and patient teaching style, while still giving helpful feedback. I'll be back soon for more lessons!

Our daughter, Sylvi, has been taking violin lessons with Angel now for almost two years, and the progress she has made has been remarkable. We were nervous to start her on a challenging instrument at such a young age (she is 7), but we could not have found a more positive, supportive and encouraging teacher who really understands how to inspire children. We have appreciated Angel’s flexibility with the schedule, we and look forward to watching Sylvi grow as a musician with Angel as her teacher for years to come. -Teydin and Andrew Romanowsky

I have only had a handful of lessons with, Angel, but he has already improved my bowing and fingering, my attention to pitch, and he is introducing me to 3rd position, something I wasn’t even aware of after three years of following the Suzuki method.

I started studying the violin two years ago. I asked the violist of a chamber music ensemble that I know well if he knew a violin teacher in Newton. I am a teacher myself, and I recognize great teaching such as Angel’s. He makes no more than 3 or 4 suggestions in our half-hour lesson. Often his suggestion improves my playing instantaneously. That number also is plenty for a beginner’s focus during a week of practicing. The positive reinforcement I get from him helps me to worry less about my success in the moment and enjoy my progress more. Angel seems to teach with the same expertise, dedication and enthusiasm that permeate the other areas of his musical life—his roles of soloist, concert master, and string department leader. I feel very fortunate to have him as my teacher!
