Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Our most common jobs are weddings. We do about 10 weddings a year. I'd like to do even more than that since I take great pride in the work that I do, whether it be DJing, photo or video, I always am at my best to give my clients the performance that they paid for. Nothing less will do!

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. If you're looking for professional DJ services or photographers, we can certainly help you without putting a hole in your pocket.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. If I was a customer, I'd want to make sure my DJ knew how to play to a crowd. How would my DJ handle himself if the dance floor emptied? What type of entertainer is my DJ? Is he laid-back or full of energy and exciting? Does the company sub-contract?

Photography and Videography - do you know your way around a reception to get that "great" shot? Are you artistic? Can you get the shots we want?

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. How long have you been doing what you do? What makes you different from all the rest? Describe one of your favorite events that you've done. Worst events...and what did you do to make it better? How will you satisfy OUR needs? Will you go above and beyond what's expected to get THE shot?

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. Have you found a service that really listens to YOUR needs? Is it about YOU or the money you're paying them to perform the services you've asked for? Will your DJ work extra if asked? Will your photographer listen to YOUR needs and take pictures YOU want?

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I have been a DJ since the early 1980's. I was in high school when I joined a local, student-run radio station in town. I enjoyed the music, the challenge of mixing songs and being entertaining. In 1989, I went to work for WUPE radio for 7 years and decided that I loved working on radio and entertaining others why not branch out and do more mobile djing.

Q. What is your greatest strength?

A. I think my greatest strength is my outgoing personality. During the week, I am a UPS driver and I enjoy the people part of the job. I love talking to people and find out their needs and I've been told that I have a great, friendly personality. That stretches over into my radio and DJ work. I'm always playing to the crowd and my listeners because I want them to have a great time and enjoy every minute.

Q. What are you currently working on improving?

A. When it comes to our DJ services, we are constantly working on upgrading our lights and other equipment to keep up with the ever changing times. With photo and video, we're continuing to purchase other lenses, software and cameras so that way we can offer even more services for our clients in the future.
