Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Ask the DJ you consider if he or she requires a written contract. At USDJ, we not only contract with you for your event, we prefer meeting face-to-face with no obligation. This way you are assured that we fit your needs. A professional and reliable DJ service provider will provide a clear contract, for your protection as well.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Not all DJ's offer the same level of professionalism or quality standards of equipment. Most prey on a client's lack of knowledge and claim they have the best. Unfortunately, brands like Gemsound, American Audio, B52 and many others are far from professional. Also insure your DJ has a real and viable backup plan. Your party only happens once...your guests will remember that your entertainment provider failed to finish it!

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. A DJ is only as good as the last party he/she played. Most are happy to provide genuine references you may contact. Does your entertainment provider offer to meet with you face-to-face? Most who rely on email or telephone contact only prior to your event may not give you the best possible service. At USDJ, we are happy to meet with you at no charge or obligation prior to booking.

Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.

A. We offer both DJ Services and Wedding photography.

Our current rates for DJ services:

4 hour birthday, anniversary or grad party starting at $450 and up.

Weddings:

Our wedding DJ packages start at $900 and up.

Mileage charge of .85 per mile for events more than a 50 mile round trip.

Destination events over 125 miles one way require an additional fee for one night lodging.

Photo Services:

1: Wedding photo packages start at $850 for 5 hours of coverage. Additional time can be quoted to suit your needs. We link your photos on our photo service website and provide a CD or DVD of all your pics in high resolution. Our photo website can allow for public or private viewing with a password, you may share the photos with your friends. All website albums remain up for 1 year from the date of the event.

3: Add a photo montage/slideshow with music added to a wedding package for an additional $150 and up depending on size. We'll use your list of favorite songs.

4: Photo montage packages alone with or without music start at $350 and up, depending on size and scans. Generally if your photos provided are all digital the cost is less. Service includes some retouching and cropping.

Ask us about having your wedding photos broadcast in real time when shot at your reception on a 92" screen!

A. Q: How about those event pictures we see on DJ Websites?

A: At USDJ, your permission is required and noted in our contract that we may take pictures and use them on our website. Some clients are OK with this, and other clients wish their privacy respected and do not allow pictures at their event. We are all about respecting our clients privacy.
