FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $350/day for mural work, unless it is a ceiling or requires staging, then it is quoted differently. For faux finishing, I charge between $2-$4 per square foot, depending on the finish and number of colors used.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically I go to there home, look around and get a feel of what colors they like, whether they prefer modern, classic, or country accents in their living space. Then I will look at the wall/space they want to have painted. I listen to any ideas they may have regarding a mural or painting. I elaborate with any ideas I may have. If they don't know what to paint, I ask questions about how they want the room to feel, if they have special hobbies or interests, or favorite vacation spots they would like to showcase. From there, I offer to create a sketch for $125, which is deducted from the mural/painting if they choose to go with me. This enables us to be on the same page as to what they can expect it to look like, as well as, make any changes before the painting begins.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BFA in Painting. I also worked for Pieces Hand-Painted Furniture for over 10 years, where we painted and sold furniture to customers all over the world. I started my own business about 18 years ago, painting murals, faux finishes and custom canvases for people. I also have 5 years experience in Color Consulting. I help people choose colors that create harmonious color flow in their home. Additionally, I am a licensed teacher in visual art grades K-12.
