We are certified personal property appraisers. As defined by the tax laws governing charity donations of personal property, we're qualified personal property appraisers. Our written appraisals are accepted in courts of law, as well as by insurance firms, as proof of value for insurance, divorce or probate claims.

Our clients have included major corporations, local historical societies, and the justice department. We have given sworn court testimony regarding the property value in cases of divorce and inheritance.

We provide:

- As required by your necessities, we're able to offer auction services for any mandated liquidation.
- A professional staff to assist and advise you during the evaluation and/or personal property disposal.
- If auction isn't an alternative, we can make plans for an outright purchase, if you desire it.

Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. If the purpose of the appraisal is to sell an item, a certified appraisal is not necessary. All they have to do is contact 2 or 3 antique dealers in their area to learn what they will pay for the item.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Here are a few points that a professional report should have:
-A complete and accurate description of the property
-Analysis of the factors affecting value reflecting the appraiser's research in accordance with the standards required by government authorities.
-A definition of value appropriate to the type of appraisal
-A value for the property appraised substantiated by the report analysis
-The appraiser's qualification page
-The appraiser's signature
-The appraiser's statement that the appraiser does not have a financial interest in the property
-You should confirm with the appraiser that the appraiser's report can be defended in court, if needed

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. How long has the professional been in business.
What, if any, education in the field has he/she had.
Does the professional belong to any associations.
Assure the fee charged is independent of the appraisal
