The Farmer and The Queen

Introduction: Beginning in 1996 while volunteering alongside children in a Romanian orphanage, Erica began to see the unique and powerful place the photographed image has in telling a story. Having spent the years since then as a MSW social worker and senior case manager at Wide Horizons for Children in Waltham, Massachusetts, she has had the opportunity to photograph children and adults in the slums of India, the villages of Ethiopia, the streets of Central and South America, and the orphanages of Eastern Europe. In each of these places, she was struck by the dignity and beauty held within each gaze that faced her. With this same perspective, Erica now professionally photographs children and adults around the country. She offers her clients a sensitive, intuitive and honed skill that allows her to capture intimate moments beautifully. Whether it is the playful interaction between a child and her father, the contemplative glance of a professional adult, or the laughter of friends around the wedding table, Erica enters the world of her clients and captures the simple moments that make life memorable. It's the ordinary that Erica loves, for in these moments, the extraordinary is discovered.
