Introduction: I offer drum and piano lessons. All ages and abilities are welcome! The lessons will give you a thorough foundation in technique, theory, reading and musicality. Individual direction is given as I will focus on your needs and desires as a student. You will learn the art of timekeeping as it relates to ensemble playing as well as soloing.

Our son Tyler took lessons from Shawn for many years. We went to a few other teachers before stumbling upon Shawn. Tyler was a very young musician (age 6), and lot of teachers were not willing to teach him. Shawn was patient enough to work with him and modify traditional lessons to accommodate what we and Tyler wanted to achieve musically. Tyler flourished and has enjoyed a very impressive musical life. Not only was Shawn an excellent teacher, we found he was also a very nice guy who was personable and made the lessons fun.

Shawn has been teaching drums to our son, Daniel, for 7 years. He is a kind, patient and fun teacher. Shawn taught him to read music for the drums, piano and xylophone and has worked with him on all those instruments. He helps him with his school band drum music and he just qualified for the honors wind ensemble at his high school. Daniel enjoys working with Shawn and has made great progress as a result of Shawn's dedication and teaching.

I usually travel to people's homes for piano and drum instruction during the week. On the weekends I am traveling to perform with my band, Eight To the Bar.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure you find an instructor who is knowledgeable, patient and friendly. It is important that the instructor knows how to motivate students.
