FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing system is based on the needs of the student and what the parent is able to afford. Services and fees are discussed at the first meeting, which is not charged. I want the sessions to be affordable for the family so the child can grow, rather than missing an opportunity due to a lack of finances.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first contact is the phone call. This is to determine expectations of the parent as well as the needs of the potential student. After the call, we meet either at the Learning Center or at the student's house to discuss the needs further, assessment, session times, and the fee. The first 2 to 3 sessions are for assessment, then the Learning Plan is established and started.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a licensed Special Educator for 12 plus years. I received my Bachelor's in Liberal Studies and my Master's in Education, Moderate Needs. I also possess a CAGS in Reading and ELA. I completed 1 year of courses toward my Doctorate in Literacy. I have also obtained a Certificate in Dyslexia. My training is in Wilson, Multiple Learning Differences, Lindamood Bell, Story Grammar Marker, and 3 Keys to Comprehension by Joan Sedita, and the Irlen Syndrome. I have also attended multiple workshops for Writing, Math, and MCAS. The most recent training I attended was for Advocacy, which I will be certified for.
