I found Ashley on Thumbtack and she had good reviews. I decided that since I had time before my wedding I would meet her and see what I thought. She cut and colored my hair a few times before the wedding and every time she did such an amazing job, making the travel time from the city more than worth it. She was honest from the start about what would look best and made sure that during the trial I felt comfortable with the way that things came out. I was so stressed on my wedding day, but one of the few things I wasn’t stressed about was my hair and my make up. The day of Ashley provided me with a comforting pep talk, and was not done until she felt my hair and makeup looked perfect. She and the other two women that were helping with hair brought a really positive energy, and left everyone with exactly what they wanted for hair and makeup. My hair and makeup stayed all night, which is surprising given that my hair almost never holds. Looking back at photos it looks just as amazing as I remember it. Now that the wedding is over, I will absolutely continue to see Ashley for all of my hair needs and will recommend her to all of my friends. I am so grateful to have had someone so invested, and talented be part of such a special day. 🤍

Having Ashley as my wedding hair & makeup artist was an absolute privilege. I personally don't wear makeup often and I felt so beautiful on my special day. My mom was running late for her slot and Ashley not only stayed beyond her time, but she comforted my mom who was very stressed. If you want someone who nails your beauty vision, you must hire Ashley!

Ashley and Julie did a beautiful job on everybody’s hair and makeup. Everybody felt and looked beautiful! What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Along with over 14 years in the beauty industry, I also have history with wedding catering, photography, planning and was even an officiant! Years of hands-on learning allows my brides to have a more personalized experience! I have taken courses with hairandmakeupbysteph, I was an educator for Mirabella Beauty and SilkeningTechnologies Keratin, I have my lash consultant certification with Lavish Lashes, and I am Covid-19 Barbicide Certified as well. I am also an East Coast Regional Educator for FHI Heat.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
My mother was a wedding and lifestyle photographer! I went to school for art but found my passion was for more than just what college had to offer! I had a friend in the beauty field and I loved the idea of being on the preparation side of weddings! I love the idea of the before- the getting ready, the laughs and all the moments I get to spend with the bride and her best bridesmaids! I really love the ability to make a bride look and feel her best on her biggest day!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I would recommend making sure that you have a vendor that really listens to your needs and concerns. It’s important to hire someone who is experienced but it’s just as important to feel like you are their top priority! I will always make sure my brides know they have my total focus and attention!
