Introduction: At Progressive Canine, our philosophy is to offer a motivational approach to training for dogs and their owners! We offer small group classes and individual in-home training for dogs of all ages, mixed breed and purebred alike. Our classes cover all levels of training from beginner to advanced, plus we address problem behaviors such as nipping, house training and jumping. We also offer behavioral consultations and behavioral modification programs for dogs with behavioral issues such as dominance, aggression, separation anxiety, fear, insecurity, and phobias. Our instructors are well versed in many methods of training and many different techniques. This knowledge and experience allows us to assess each dog, and use the methods which will make you and your dog successful! This approach gives us a success rate second to none! The biggest barrier between people and dogs is communication and understanding. Training with your dog is where your dog and you learn a common language and better communication. I love working with people and their dogs to teach them how to better communicate and to have a better relationship. Seeing a person or a family with a wonderful dog that they truly enjoy makes it all worthwhile!

This training worked very well in a small group. My dog learned a lot and seems even more bonded to our family now. He was always great, but now he is even more responsive.

Excellent is an understatement. This is more than just obedience training. It is insight to the dog/human relationship, from the dogs point of view. I didn't think I could change the behavior of my 4 1/2 year old dog, but I was mistaken. I just needed to stop doing all the wrong things. Don't go elsewhere just to realize you should have made Progressive Canine Dog Training and Behavioral Services your first stop!

I’ve worked with Lynne Panno for many years with my dogs. She is very knowledgeable, patient and knows dogs and training methods extremely well. We have been coming to Lynn for training our dogs, and us, for almost 20 years. She is the Best. We are grateful to Lynn for her excellent care, her love for dogs, patience and Kindness. She helps us have more confidence and better skills when training. Monday nights,our favorite time of the week, It's girls night out for our dog Izzy and me. Izzy is so happy training with Lynn. How did you get started doing this type of work?
I began my career working with animals after graduating with a degree in animal science working as a veterinary technician. Several years later I took my own dog to training classes, and after only one session I know had found my true passion, training people and their dogs! I spent 4 years as an apprentice with my mentors, and from there went on to begin teaching on my own. I have been working with dogs and their handlers for over 30 years.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
When looking to find a professional dog trainer for you and your dog be sure that the person you chose has experience and is knowledgable about dogs and dog training methods and philosophies. Be sure they are not only experienced in one type (method) of training. By working with a balanced trainer who tailors your training to the temperament, personality and needs of your dog you will have much more success.
