American Credit Counseling Service is an independent non-profit consumer credit counseling entity established in 1988. It is tax exempt under IRS 501(c)(3).
We are dedicated to helping people have control of their personal finances by giving free financial education and debt management through our certified credit counselors and our expert customer service staff.
There is no charge for financial education to individuals or groups. Our non-profit status enables us to educate consumers who really need help and cannot afford huge application fees or expensive monthly service charges. Unique to ACCS is the variety of programs and services we offer to our clientele.
We do not choose our clients. We offer a free consultation to everyone. We have the ability to customize our programs to help each and every client, no matter what credit problem they may have.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Do not rush into any formal program until you have had time to thoroughly review it. A complete budget review should be done. All credit counseling agencies get the same deals from the creditors. You are evaluating your agency on fees and customer service. If ti sounds to good to be true, it usually is. The initial counseling session should be free.
