Insurance is accepted for face-to-face counseling for relationship issues, anger management, obesity issues, anxiety and depression. Hypnosis is available, too. I take an interactive approach to helping you address your problems by using solution-oriented problem solving techniques in the office, over the telephone, through Skype, or email.

My role in your life is a counselor, coach and educator. I am caring, fun and informal. I'm personally trained by Dr. John Gray, author of Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus.

As a relationship expert, I can help you with improving communication with your partner, with dating or healing the heart after loss. I have been in private practice since 1980.

I work with individuals, couples and families in counseling or coaching (personal or business related). Marathon sessions lasting up to 3 hours really get a lot accomplished, too! I have flexible hours: days, evenings, and sometimes weekends. You may know what the problem is; now, let's fix it.

Hypnosis is also offered in multiple venues: office, Skype or phone. Hypnosis is often the right answer. Hypnotherapy is for treatment of low self-esteem and lack of confidence, anger management, anxiety, depression, and some addiction. OCD is another skill that I have used since 1980 to help people change thoughts and behavior.

Taking the first step towards getting help is often the most difficult. Please don't hesitate to send an email to Ms. Joyce Dolberg Rowe, or schedule a Skype appointment.

Most insurances are accepted.

Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Many times individuals contact me when they are having an upset in their lives, or feel that they are riddled with negative thoughts or behaviors that hold them back. Sometimes it is binge eating, sometimes sexual dysfunction, sometimes phobias, panic attacks, social anxiety, or depression, low self -esteem etc. Because i have been in practice for 30+ years, i have quite a tool belt and 'eclectic approach to helping people solve their problems and move on to a more fulfilling life.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Hiring a counselor to help you with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, eating disorders, grief, or other personal problems is important. Try to get a recommendation from friends. If not that, contact your insurance company for a list of providers in your area, make sure they are accepting new clients; then call them and get a feel for personality type. Ask to have a brief chat on the phone about your issues. You can also 'google' them and learn more about their practice and their personal experience. The best predictor of success in therapy is 'rapport'-how you feel with a therapist. If you have the time, make a few initial appointments with different providers to make the best decision.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I have been in practice for 30 years, and supervise very talented interns. we are offering a highly specialized program for one-on-one and group treatment for food addiction and obesity.
Additionally I am personally trained by Dr. John Gray who wrote Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus, and I offer improved communication skill building for individuals and couples.
As founder and developer of an ANGER MANAGEMENT program, I can help you with this very challenging issue. With offices in Quincy and Hull, MA, and providing services on the telephone, you will get your needs met for counseling or hypnosis.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. As required by my license, every two years I must complete 30 continuing education credits. i acheive this goal by attending seminars and conferences and other professional education opportunities, or by reading books and testing. Some of the most recent topics I have studied are Narcissistic Personality Disorders, OCD, ADD and ADHD, Cognitive Behavioral Therapies, and food and eating addictions, and autism.

Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.

A. i am able to accept most insurance. Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Tufts health Plan, Harvard-Pilgrim, most of the Mass Health products: Neighborhood Health Plan, MBHP(Mass Behavioral Health Plan), BHCHP, Aetna, Cigna, college plans, etc. if you have any questions about your particular insurance plan, feel free to call me or email me to confirm that we can accept your provider. you may need to obtain prior authorization before your appointment. we will verify that, too. Be prepared with your co-pay. credit cards and flex cards are accepted.
