Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I think of myself as a more experienced student, rather than a teacher. I let the student show me the way they like to learn. Whether it’s reading or by ear or both, I like to go here the energy is. Then learning becomes easy and fun. I enjoy watching a person develop. It’s like learning for the first time. I enjoy the constant going over of fundamentals because it makes me better. And I enjoy the unexpected lessons I learn from different students. We learn from each other. Even if it’s on your first lesson, you may say something that makes me say, “Gee, I never thought about it like that before.”

Greg is not your average music teacher. He gives students the opportunity to learn whatever they want but still manages to engage proper music theory and technique into each lesson. He makes students feel comfortable enough to ask questions. Greg goes at the appropriate pace for each student yet at the same time challenges everyone enough to reach their true potential as a musician. He touches on classical and jazz and also lets students choose songs they wish to learn. Greg brings an exciting, passionate energy in each lesson, which therefore transfers onto the student. His lessons are not repetitive involving sitting down the whole time playing scales over and over again. He switches up the exercises, plays along when necessary, and does additional rhythm exercises using your vocals, hands, and other instruments/materials in order to keep the students engaged. Having Greg as a teacher, there is never a dull moment and he always is making you laugh. His method of breaking the lesson up into sections of theory/technique, classical/jazz, and then a portion to learn song of choice is perfect for students of all ages and levels.

I'm 40 years old and, though I have played several musical instruments formally and informally in my past, the last time I played orchestral or rock-n-roll instruments was 20 years ago. When I recently mentioned to my wife that I'd really like to learn to play guitar "right" sometime (having dabbled in teaching myself a long time ago), she got lessons with Greg for my birthday. I've been to around 10 lessons with Greg so far, and I have to say that I'm really impressed with his teaching skills. First off, he adapts very quickly to your skill level; he'll give you things to challenge you while not overwhelming you. Second, he doesn't only teach you scales and musical theory without application like some music teachers do. Third, he listens to what *you* want to do. For example, I told him that I always wanted to learn finger picking, and mentioned a few songs I liked that used that technique; he learned them on his own and the began teaching them to me. Fourth, in a good balance between my second and third points, he will always sneak in some theory into your lessons but always teach you how the theory can help you in practical situations. For example, in my very first lesson he taught me the simple minor pentatonic scale and showed me how I can use it to solo in any 12-bar blues song. Finally, he's someone that makes you feel comfortable at all times -- someone you aren't afraid to screw up in front of, and someone you can bring questions to. I really enjoy our lessons, feel like I'm learning a lot, and plan to continue. When my kids are old enough to start learning an instrument, I'll send them to Greg too. Please consider using Greg as your teacher. I think you'll be very satisfied.

Greg is a great teacher! He helped me to learn the guitar at my own pace. It didn't feel like a lesson because he would make it fun while I was learning. He gave me great exercises to practice for "homework" that I still use when playing the guitar today. I would highly recommend him as a teacher to anyone!

Greg was a great guitar teacher for me. I had a little experience playing guitar before working with him but he really helped improve and taught me some lessons that made me the musician I am today. It helps that he knows how to play different instrument well too because we could learn songs and play together like a band rather than just a teacher and student. He's a patient and motivating teacher and a gifted musician.

Greg is a wonderful instructor. My daughter learned to play a few songs in such a short amount of time with him! She loved his sessions and couldn't wait to learn more! He's not only amazing at all the instruments he plays but also a great teacher! Getting kids to pay attention to anything in general is a challenge but he made it fun and easy for my daughter! Highly recommended!
