Working with Joe has been an exercise in frustration and time wasted. Back in December 2012 I accepted his bid to install 9 windows at my house. We executed a signed contract, I paid for and ordered windows from Home Depot which he picked up, and I also gave him a deposit. He agreed he could install the windows within a week or two. Then, over the next 2 months, he came up with at least 8 excuses not to come and install my windows. At first the excuses evoked sympathy but after a while I figured he really had no intention of installing the windows. I rearranged my work schedule time after time so I could be home for the appointment but he always found a reason not to show up. My windows and deposit were basically held hostage, and only a poor review on Thumbtack and threat of legal action prompted him to return them. Your mileage may vary, he maybe in fact be an excellent carpenter, but my review is a description of facts as I've experienced them.

We are so frustrated with Joe, because he didn't finish our project by 5/23 as promised by contract. We have a half done pool deck that we have to hire another carpenter to finish it. He also owes us money from the unfinished job. He came three times to my house. Once for the estimate, second to pour the cement for the footings for the deck, third on 5/22 to do half of the deck and hasn't been back since. He has offered a variety of reasons why he couldn't come on various occasions, not returning calls when requested and only communicating by email. The Thumbtack representative was supportive, but suggested that our only recourse if we couldn't resolve it with him was legal action. We're very upset. Karen Keese

My husband and I are very disappointed, Joseph was suppose to fix some repairs to our home that caught fire in July 2013. He gave us a estimate of cost would be $3094.00. The insurance company sent him a check; he cashed the check, he never started the work.
