Introduction: I provide ecologically informed design, renovation, and maintenance, tailored to your individual garden. Every plant and every garden has unique qualities and possibilities and needs. Successful and harmonious garden design and care arise from that uniqueness. For example, proper shrub pruning requires a deep understanding of each shrub's growth cycle, architecture, and other features, which determine the pruning times and techniques that will enhance rather than disfigure it. Likewise, a garden does and looks its best when its plants and design fit its natural and domestic environment. I specialize in applying my extensive plant knowledge to your garden. My understanding (and your input!) leads to strategies that allow a beautiful, happy, largely self-sustaining garden to happen.
I love creating and maintaining gardens that convey a sense of place -- that are an integral part of their setting, meshing with their natural conditions and the neighboring human landscape.
