Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. My advice is to make sure the provider has insurance, is certified in the IT industry and that he/she is honest. That the person really cares about your business needs and walk the extra mile to help you.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. If you working with computers just get familiar with basic operations and coomponents. What is a had drive, RAM, how to connect the keyboard, mouse, get familiar with the operating system and application you use the most. That will help

A. We at Nelson Velez & Associates strive to provide an excellent customer service, and build a business relationship with our clients.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. What we like the most about our job is the opportunity to help others using technology, from fixing a computer, to help design a business continuity plan, to install equipment use to enhance people educations. We make every effort to put the human side to all we do.

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. The best story is when our customers tell us that we meet or exceed their expectations and they sent us a nice written feedback on an email

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. That Nelson Velez & Associates is in business to provide professional IT services to clients and that we value every single customer as if they were the only one we have. Our interest is to provide our services and satisfy our clients IT needs as well as establishing a business relationship.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. Long story short I love working with people and technology and that is exactly what I am doing

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. None in particular yet

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. The only constant thing in our lives is change, so we have to embrace it. Technology change constantly so we go to trainings , read books, get IT certifications, go to college, read white papers etc…

Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?

A. There are several big new technologies that will impact the way we do business and life. There is something we call the Cloud. Services such as software as a service, applications for example email, backup services to be done of site are making lot of noise in the IT industry. Also smart phones and iPADs are already changing computer industry and how we communicate just the mention a few

Q. Describe your most recent project, what it involved, how much it cost, and how long it took.

A. I have small projects that has to do with fixing computers since we are a startup company. We are working our way up to position ourself as a leader in IT services in our area.

A. Our pricing is straight forward no hidden fees. We have option depending on the services needed. Contract, Time and Material, flat fee etc…

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. Got to school get an education then take time to get certifications to be specialize in the IT field could be working with servers, fixing hardware, wireless, data storage etc…

In the next five years we are going to be a profitable company providing services to more 100 customers in the Boston MA area.
