We safeguard your possessions and assets by performing pro-active services such as home inventories (in case your house burns down!); professional appraisals (antiques, furniture, collections, art, household items etc for insurance, divorce, estates); ID theft protection; background checks and driving records.
I work with many attorneys, insurance companies and home owners.
I do not buy and/or sell, as it constitutes bias.
I will come to your home for a consultation and assessment before you downsize, move, divorce or plan to get rid of things.
Question and answer
Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.
A. About 80% of my work is appraisals. 10% inventory. 10% background checks.
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Before you downsize, change insurance policies, get divorced, buy/sell part of your collection, move house, buy insurance, you need an appraisal. We will come to your home or business and value items and make suggestions that will benefit you. Don't get rid of things without calling us first!
Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A. Are they USPAP certified?
Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?
A. Insurance- review your policies once in a while to see if you have adequate coverage.
Legal- review your Will.
Peace of mind- Take Inventory of your Possessions, disaster strikes without warning.
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. I do not buy and/or sell because it constitutes bias. Many of my clients are attorneys (estate, family and elder law). They want an honest and researched opinion, not a biased one. I am USPAP certified, therefore I adhere to strict guidelines of professional appraisal practice.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. My clients become friends. I serve a purpose and need that people don't think about- until it's too late!
Since I spend a lot of time with a client (in their home), I gain their trust and confidence. I go above and beyond to give each client more than they expect.
Being a resource and giving a client peace of mind in case of disaster, is satsifying to me.
Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.
A. Pricing is subject to each job. Most times we will give a fee for service that includes everything- this makes it easier for the client to budget, and there is no question later.
Sometimes an hourly rate is necessary, again, depends on the circumstance.
