FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing starts at $105 per hour for private lessons but goes up to $145 per hour for behavior modification or if further than 30 minutes from Sturbridge, MA. Most clients are need between 2-4 lessons and lessons are 1 hour to 1.5 hours long. $15 charge per 15 minutes of travel applied to locations further than 15 minutes away. Between appointments I offer assistance and review on topics we covered already by text or email as well as videos of my dogs practicing relevant behaviors if necessary. I aim to teach you as much as you need to know to train your dog properly. I don't just teach process- the how it is done, because if things deviate from expectation you will not be able to handle it. I teach basics of training, dog communication, behavior modification, enrichment, how to play with your dog, whatever helps you and your dog have the best relationship and life possible.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to gather information on the customer and their dog first, concerns, how long they have been going on, expectations, etc. After that we can start lessons, they are usually 1?5-2 hours and I give homework on how to proceed with what you have learned so you can make progress between appointments.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Michael Ellis School, Michael Shikashio- Aggressive Dog, CATCH, self training, fostering and rescuing 'difficult' dogs, lots of reading and continuing to educate myself
