REMODELING PROJECTS: (scroll down to read about decorative projects) 1. Initial consult This is our first meeting in the project space. This is when you and the designer discuss the project and loosely determine scope and budget for the work. Some preliminary photos and measurements of the space may taken at this time. We what you to get value out of every moment we spend together so we do charge a flat fee for our initial consults. This allows ideas about the project to flow freely. While we prefer that initial consults become exciting projects for us, sometimes this bit of time with a creative designer like myself is all someone needs while a design idea is in its infancy. 2. Project Agreements If you desire to work with us beyond the initial consult, we will draft a document outlining the scope of the project and the budget. This document will serve as a roadmap for keeping the project on track. 4. Schematic Design During this phase, we explore all planning options. We complete the necessary 2D and 3D sketches and design concept studies based on the needs of the project. Typically we show you 2-4 design schemes to choose from. 5. Design Development This is when the details come to life. We take the design elements that you selected during the schematic design phase and begin generating detailed plans and drawings from it. The design development phase will result in a well-developed design concept, detailed plans, elevations and renderings and preliminary selection of furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E) for the purpose of good design communication. Please expect 1-3 in-person meetings during this phase. 6. Documentation By the start of the documentation phase, all design decisions have been made. Now is the time to inject our concept with all the technical elements needed for the contractor to secure the appropriate permits for and to build out the project. 7. Implementation and Completion The home stretch — this is the final phase of the remodeling project. We will check in often and will keep open and clear communication between all parties involved with the project. Counterpane Interiors will oversee the project to completion, ensuring that it is built as specified. Please expect photos to be taken at the completion of your project. DECORATIVE PROJECTS: 1. Analysis and Programming This is a brief study based on the your goals and aesthetic tastes for the project, existing conditions of the space, and intended usage of the space. During this time, online collaborative mood boards will be set up and populated. 4. Aesthetic Presentation This is where we take all the inspiration based on our mood boarding, and lifestyle needs and create a visual presentation of what your space will look like. We like to show at least two decorative options during this phase. 5. Implementation & Completion Armed with feedback from the aesthetic presentation, we go forth and procure all the necessary elements to make our visual representation a reality. Just as jewelry is often the element that pulls a whole outfit together, decorative accessories are what pull a whole room together. We typically add all accessories to the space near the end of this phase. You can then choose the accessories that speak most to you and buy those items directly off of us. Please expect photos to be taken at the completion of your project.
