Greg Garstka is more than a talented musician and an inspiring guitar teacher. He is a man that is able to get the best out of anyone so they can reach their true potential. His music instruction opened up new worlds of understanding in both technique and theory. Greg would never cancel, never let lessons run short, and always came prepared with a lesson plan that was tailored to my needs and skill level. I have taken lessons with him for over 6 years and I have become a confident well rounded player in classical, jazz, blues, bluegrass, and of course rock and roll! Any other teacher is a waste of time and money. Greg will actually get you playing at a level you never thought possible. Couldn't recommend him enough!

I have been Greg's student for 2 years. He has taught me more in that time than all my other years playing guitar combined. Greg would teach me songs I wanted to learn as well as teaching me styles I never would have considered. This combination made me excited for every lesson. My favorite part of the lessons was the infectious passion that Greg had for music. He inspired me to try harder and take on challenges I would have otherwise avoided. I can now play bluegrass fingerpicking, which has helped other aspects of playing enormously. Lastly, I have to mention how much Greg helped me to perform. He gave me the confidence to play in front of people and even provided outlets for students to showcase their talent.

I was a student at Greg's music store for about 9 years of my life, learning under his instruction for at least 4 of them. I cannot say enough about his store and his lessons! They were unbelievably helpful, and improved my playing in ways I didn't even realize they could. You're given the ability to learn the techniques and songs you want to learn, and if they were new to him, he'd go out of his way to perfect them so you could learn and perfect them as well. Learning with Greg is laid back and enjoyable, but at the end of the day, you've still gained a lot of knowledge and skill, whether it be a new technique, or little tips and tricks. Lessons with Greg have been very beneficial and without them, I'd be nowhere near the player I am today. I'll let you be the judge of his lessons yourself, but as far as I'm concerned, I would strongly recommended trying them out, as I've got nothing bad to say.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

    Make sure they have experience teaching. Also listen to their playing if possible to determine if you believe they are a good musician. Also make sure you are dedicated to putting time and effort into the skill you are trying to aquire.
