Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. We service many check engine lights and brake replacements are pretty common. We normally are working on a multitude of things, such as anything from an oil change to a full motor replacement and everything in between.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Look in the shop, talk to the employees and ask all the questions you need to. You have to ask yourself if this is the place I want working on my car and are these the people I want to work with throughout the repair process? If you think the price is to much, get a second opinion.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Hourly rates should be displayed for your eyes for your knowledge. The mechanic's license and insurance should be readily available for your safety.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. The customer should always ask as many questions as they want and feel as though they are being answered with patience and honesty until they are satisfied that they are aware of all the aspects of their needs being understood and met. It is important to ask, may I see your license, insurance, hourly repair charges and credentials.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. The customer should always think over all, not only is my vehicle in good hands, but am I? Am I working with knowledgeable, friendly staff that has openly answered all of my questions and treated me with the help and respect that I deserve? Do I want to work with them from start to finish and are they really going to work with me?

A. With over 25 years of outstanding experience we are ready to help you! We have the state of the art equipment to diagnose your vehicles of all makes and models. From a simple oil change to a fully motor replacement, we are here working with you from start to finish. We pride ourselves in our work and dedication to our customer's. We offer free and honest diagnostics and quotes to all automobile repairs and our customer's.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. The challenge of working on so many different types of automobiles and working with our customer's throughout the process on a daily basis is rewarding to us. After all these years, still loving every day of our jobs as much as we do down here at the Island!

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. How much will it cost to repair? How quickly can we get the car back? My response is I can give you a free detailed quote after we inspect the car, also I give you an accurate time frame for the repair in the estimate.
Most times the repair is held up or slowed by the locating and delivery of the parts.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. We have everything displayed for our customer's, all licenses, hourly rates, insurance and more! We answer all of your questions until you are satisfied as well as explain them so you understand them fully. We work with our customer's from start to finish and make sure they leave knowledgeable and satisfied.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. A love for automobiles, motor cycles, race cars and more since childhood has led me here and kept me here happily for over 25 years and still going strong!

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. We continue to take classes as the new state of the art products come out to work on your automobiles with.

Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?

A. Tire Pressure Monitors are huge and many people do not understand them because they have either never had them in the past or even know what the light means when it comes on. We are always happy to take a look at all your tires needs and run our systems checks on your tires for free. If any repairs are needed, we are happy to discuss them at that time. This is a huge state of the art in safety for all your vehicle passengers.

Q. What is your greatest strength?

A. Island Auto being at the same address and with the same phone number for over 25 years says a lot to us and to any of our competition. Being a larger organization does not make you better at your job and in many cases it means you are just being over charged. We are an honest company, that's why we are happy to give free quotes and diagnostics. Then we can sit down with our customer's and explain pricing and options until we are all on the same page as satisfaction.
