Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. Wax can be woods worst enemy!!! If the floor has been refinished, usually a Swiffer is enough to clean your floor properly. Polyurethane keeps the floor protected while adding the shine that makes your floor look new. If the shine has worn down, it may be time to have a coat put down to continue protecting the floor. If this is done every 5 years after refinishing it reduces the need to refinish a second time. Avoid using products containing wax on wood flooring, especially if you plan to refinish. After refinishing your floor, it is much easier to clean. I also recommend using sliders while moving furniture to avoid scratches.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. The thing that I enjoy most about my job is helping people be more comfortable in their homes. I love to see the look on a home-owners face when they see that their old scratched up floor looks like new again. It can really be an amazing transformation for the property. In addition to looking good, it can also add value to the property!! MV Hardwood Flooring takes pride in the work that we do!
