Survey findings and summary
Thumbtack.com, in partnership with the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, has released the new results from the second annual Thumbtack.com Small Business Survey. The 2013 study draws upon data from over 7,000 small business owners nationwide and shows that Maryland improved its overall grade slightly from 2012's 'C-', earning a 'C' in this year's study.
Some of the key findings for Maryland include:
- Small businesses gave Maryland an 'A-' for the ease of hiring an additional employee in the state, and a 'B+' for the training and networking programs offered.
- Among major cities nationwide, Baltimore earned a 'C' grade overall, up from a 'D' in 2012.
