Reviews

  • 4/5 stars

It was a pleasure working with GMS. I gave 4 stars, as we ultimately did not go with their design, but that is only because a local designer came in and did my work on-site - that came about by happenstance and not because I was dissatisfied with GMS.

The fee was very competitive, communication was good and I would use them again if the need arose.

Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Websites and Product Photography. The word is out. We are experts in product photography and many of our customers have hired us not only to do their website but to take photos of their entire product lines, facilities, services, etc,

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. References. Ask for references and no less then three of them. A good design company will have much more. Visit the companies website. If they have examples of websites that they have designed then go to the website, find the contacts and inquire about the company that has built their website. A bad design company will steer you to a select few, A good deign company will give you the complete list! If you don't feel 100% confident and comfortable with the person you are talking to right away then find someone else. Your gut instincts are usually correct!

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Be prepared. Know what you want ahead of time. A good plan upfront will allow the workflow to go smoother and faster by avoiding additions and changes during the design project.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. Examples...If you see something you like or something that is similar to what you want make sure you get a copy to your designer. Explain to them what it is you like about it and what you may want different. This communication could help speed up the process and get you design online or to print much faster,

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. There are a lot of good web Design Companies but I believe our work stands out because of the relationship we build with all of our customers. We give 100% attention to our customers and pay very close attention to details. we have NEVER had an unsatisfied customer and we NEVER will!

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I love the interaction between us and our customers. I like the feeling I get when the response is absolutely positive and I know we are on the right track. It makes us proud to display the work we have done and know that we have accomplished what we set out to do. We are happy to state that more then 75% of our work comes from the referrals of our customers.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. That depends. Customers who are getting websites normally ask how long it will take. The answer is quite simple. We can turn a website around in about ten days IF the customer supplies all of the information we need at the very beginning. However, this is usually not the case, they usually have an idea in their head but as soon as they see their first glimpse of their website they want to add more or make some additional changes. This is the normal flow of web design. We don't get upset or charge more we just give you want you want and move forward until the project is completed.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. Graphical Media Services is a very aggressive company when it comes to new technology and we love a challenge. Simple websites are fun but the challenge of large database type websites, multimedia, MRSS and RSS feeds, E-Commerce, content management, etc is what separates us from a lot of other design companies.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I was looking at a friends website and noticed it was quite antiquated. I asked him to let me redo his website free of cost. After finishing his website he was so pleased with what we had done he recommended us to a friend. We decided that this was an opportunity to give people the kind of service they needed for their business and never looked back.

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. www.doerstv.com has to be one of my favorites. It was a challenge for us because we had to go into the programming language of the video players and build the player the way we wanted it. We customized the functions, thumbnails, size, etc and linked it back to the online programs that are all controlled by an online database.
