My specialty is deep tissue and clinical types of massage and bodywork. I have been in the massage business since 1997 and graduated from PMTI, which is a very well respected school of massage therapy.

My clients are people who appreciate a very good massage at a reasonable price. I have a convenient location in Annapolis near the Naval Academy. Chair massage is available for businesses.

Question and answer

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. Many times I have heard from people that they have been to other massage therapists and they did not listen to them. They went to receive a session and were disappointed that the therapist could not deliver a therapeutic massage to help alleviate some pain or tension they were experiencing. I make it a point to listen and tailor the session for what you need.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Helping the client to feel better than when they walked into the office is always rewarding and of course that is the primary goal. When someone says "I haven't been able to move my arm or rotate my head like that for a long time!" That is what makes me feel good about what I do for a living.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. I have this condition (fill in the blank) do you think that you can help me? How long have you been doing massage? Where exactly are you located?

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. That no two massage therapists are the same. There are great differences based on schooling and the therapist's choice of continuing education which the state of MD requires after graduating from a massage program. Paying more money for fluff and buff than for a truely therapeutic session is highly possible. Do you really need the white robe and slippers?

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. Yes I do. The state requires 24 CEUs every two years, plus CPR. The therapist does have a wide range of courses available to obtain these credits and this is what sets therapists apart from one another. My focus has been toward the orthopedic, sports and medical type of massage therapy.
