I have always said that when I met Dr. Igbani it was orchestrated by God. I met Dr. Igbani while working as an EMT for the Baltimore City Fire Department. Our relationship started with me expressing my want to advance in the medical field as a PA during one of my nights shifts where I brought a patient into her ER. This was my first time having a conversation with Dr. Igbani, but even then she made me feel so comfortable around her that I indulged in my struggles that I faced during my undergrad years and how it was hindering my progress. I was very vulnerable during this moment and Dr. Igbani took it upon herself to take me under her wing and mentor me. For 2 years Dr. Igbani worked with me diligently. We would have several video chats and phone conversations to check on my progress we even met up outside of the work environment. Dr. Igbani always encouraged me every step of the way and pushed me to believe in myself and to never give up! I am truly thankful to Dr. Igbani for all she did for me purely out of the kindness of her heart and her want to see me succeed. I was accepted to PA school this year as a first time applicant with a not so stellar transcript. Having a mentor like Dr. Igbani and God truly helped me during this process and I can’t say Thank you enough!! If you chose her as your mentor you WILL NOT be disappointed!!

Dr. Igbani's mentorship was extremely valuable to me as a student pursuing medical school. She took time to help me develop the confidence and preparation I needed to perform well at my interviews. When I worked as her scribe, I learned a lot from her professionalism and patience with her patients and coworkers. Her empathy and the time she gave to each patient despite busy shifts was something I hope to model myself in the future. Although my job wasa scribe, she knew I wanted to go to medical school, so she would impart on me learning moments throughout the work day so I could understand the how and why behind what she was doing.
