FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My hourly rate reflects the level of expertise and training that I've acquired in 30 years of teaching private voice lessons. I continue to attend classes and workshops in vocal pedagogy, voice science, vocal health and anatomy. You could find a less experienced, less expensive teacher, but you run the risk of spending twice as much time and money to solve your vocal technique issues.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I ask new students to sing a song at the beginning of the lesson so that I can make a plan as to what areas I would like to work on first. I ask the student to evaluate their own performance and get an understanding of what the student is struggling with. We also discuss the areas where the student is being successful. We make short term and long term goals and chart progress in subsequent lessons.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes, I have Level 2 Certification in Estil Voice Training as well as Level 3 Certification in Somatic Voicework (tm), The LoVetri Method. Both are geared for teachers of Contemporary styles.
