Question and answer

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Every company has a slightly different set up/ shooting style. I've heard horror stories from people who've seen videographers/ photographers get in the way too much at weddings & etc. Make sure to let your videographer know how close or unobtrusive you'd like them to be. Also discuss how much produced design vs. more minimal editing you'd like with your video; it can affect the price quote.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I love the variety of projects we do. One day we can be filming a wedding and the next a law seminar. One week we could be working on a band promotional and the following a fire and rescue training video. It's great to work closely with clients to create video and film suited to their specific needs.

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. I really enjoy meeting different people through my work. When doing video interviews with students who had participated in a program exposing them to various types of arts education, we were able to talk with them after the interviews about film and video production. Getting to help, educate, and inspire people through work is rewarding.
