We offer music licensing and production, custom arrangements and compositions, remixing, and mixtapes.

What is a beat license? Let's say I write and record the instrumental part of a song. You hear it, you have words or a guitar solo that would fit perfectly over the instrumental I made, then you can buy rights to ownership of the total instrumental and all its parts. You can also ask about collaborating remotely or locally. Speakerhead Beats has many beats and instrumentals for sale with contracts that go into active status upon your purchase right off the website.

    John is one of the best in the business. He knows how to mix songs from different styles and genres that you wouldn't think would work but he does and seamlessly. He knows his music and loves what he does. I would highly recommend him for hire. I love to hear him mix.

    I hired John to do my wedding! He has EVERYTHING, but he's a scratch DJ who can do on the fly remixes of your favorite joints. Next wedding, he's my go to DJ. RIGHT ON!

    john was determined and knew what he wanted. he got a sound in his head or the way he wanted it to and would work at it till he was ok with what he had, over all we had some good times and look forward to working with him again, he gots a talent for his art that you just don't see that much of anymore he has compassion for hip hop and the Baltimore scene, i give mad respect to speaker-head and his time and energy he puts into every project need more like him around, only thing i can see needing improvement is to listen to others but then again i know what he hears is the way he wants it to sound so i cant knock him for that........

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Master of ceremonies, People don't just pay me to come hook up an iPod and play music... I provide an atmosphere, keep the drinks flowing, and the smiles smiling... Severna Park Taphouse has me on friday nights, spinning a mix of modern hip hop, rock, dance mixes depending on the crowd, we play a little bit of everything.... My set up dispenses 1600 watts of whatever's necessary to provide the right mood... P.A. and a Sure sm57 Mic, for sound and, recording speeches at graduations and weddings... My close friends use my affordable Dj services for there kids graduations, birthdays, and weddings...

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Think about your budget , Think about your taste , Think about how you want the product to turn out , and how fast you need it...Ask about what software or platforms the producer can deliver your production in....Think about how you want to be able to display your production...Like do you want a band to be able to play it live...Then you would need the score if the song was complicated.......Or your production is a live event....Think about how much area you have to cover with sound....What you want it to look like....

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. As a consumer I always want to know how to get the most for my money....The trade secret on music licensing is to use producers that are good, but don't have enough credits to charge a boat load....When it comes to hiring a D.j. You want to know there gonna be on time and have the music you want...The trade secret for most anything is ....You get what you pay for...This is usually true for D.j.'s but the demand for D.j.'s has gone down and so has the price....The best advice is...Shop around...but not too much...Let's face it you know what you know.....

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. How many soundscan units do I get with a Non-Exclusive License ?
Can the producer play the music you need ?
Do you have any special rates for bulk orders ,or repeat business ?
Can we collaborate from anywhere ?
Can the producer provide all the source files for Exclusive Productions ?
Will your service provider support there product ?
Are they easy to work with ?
Ask about experience and references ...ask about if the service provider cares about there product and not just the money....Ask about there previous background and customer relations.....
