- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My friends convinced me to try it since I am very creative and art comes naturally to me. And my husband supported me and asked me, to dive in hook,line and sinker since I was good at it.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Most commonly I get hired to do bridal henna, sangeets, bridal showers, baby showers, birthday parties and bat/bar mitzvahs. For brides I customize their designs at no extra cost. At the parties I do strip style henna designs (all freehand) that I come up with on the spot without a book to refer to and also put some glitter on top for free to make the designs pop. For brides I do complimentary consultation and custom designs.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Please check the designs done by the artist because if the henna does not look good, the client will be stuck with a bad design on her skin for weeks. Also check if the henna is made with all natural ingredients and that the artist stays away from black henna or henna laced with PPD.
