About
The fact that I am still busy after 22 years of teaching from my home studio here in Columbia, Maryland shows I must be doing something right! I love playing the guitar and teaching people ways to improve their playing at any level.

Tom has been teaching my son for almost three years. He's been a wonderful teacher. He's very flexible with scheduling lessons and has been willing to change the schedule to meet our needs. Tom also gave me advice on and helped me purchase two guitars from dealers. His knowledge and enthusiasm make him the perfect teacher.

Tom is a great musician and a superior music teacher. I thoroughly enjoy my lessons with him. He has formal training and years of experience as a guitarist and knows how pass the knowledge he's acquired to his students. I've learned a lot and had fun with my lessons. I highly recommend Tom, whether you are a beginning guitarist, intermediate player, or an expert.

My 16 year old son has been taking guitar lessons from Tom for so many years I can't remember exactly how many it's been. Maybe five. Tom was born to teach (oh yes- and also be a musician!) He is kind and patient and really cares about his students as people, not just as musicians. In our heavily scheduled life, Tom never watches the clock. The lesson is over when it is complete, not when the timer beeps that 30 minutes is up. My husband and I would highly recommend Tom to anyone wanting to learn guitar - from beginner to expert, young to old. He's the best.

I have always wanted to play the guitar but circumstances seemed to prohibit it until about 18 months ago. My daughters had taken lessons from Tom and enjoyed it. Their tastes and goals in music were quite different, one country oriented and recreational, one rock oriented and somewhat serious. I am rock oriented and would like to become a decent player. From beginning with never having tried to play the guitar, I believe I have plenty of room for improvement but I am at least on the road to achieving becoming a respectable player. Tom's experience, knowledge, and flexibility allowed him to give each of us exactly the support and guidance we needed. Based on our family's great experience, I would highly recommend working with Tom!
