FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I set pricing by grade and frequency of sessions. I offer discounts for multiple students from the same family. I also offer discounts for one student who has two or more sessions per week. My rates are affordable and extremely reasonable for all I offer. To receive a specific quote, send an inquiry with the age and grade level of your student(s), how often you would like to have them tutored per week and in what subjects. I will be happy to offer a customized quote.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am always learning and researching. I recently completed "Learning How to Learn" from the University of California, vis Coursera. Right now I am digging deep into the controversial "Common Core" discussion. I am helping several families survive the abrupt transition for the older students who have already been taught traditional methods. I am currently preparing to host my first "Creativity Camp" for kids ages 10-14. The camp offers Art, Singing, Dancing, Poetry Writing, Scrapbooking, and Cake Decorating. I don't know who's more excited, me, the staff, or the kids?
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was a teenager when my parents had my one and only baby brother and I had no clue how to relate to him. I soon found myself volunteered as the resident babysitter for my preschool aged brother and his little friends. Oddly enough, I wasn't content to just make sure they didn't burn the house down or hurt themselves. I wanted to provide some structured fun and teach them things. My interest led me to a hands on high school child development program and I have been working with children ever since.
