Resumés, Faith Writer's & Children's Friend

Introduction: While I am highly qualified to do many types of writing and editing, I have chosen to focus my talents in the areas of Christian/faith-based writing, non-fiction books intended to encourage or uplift others, resumés, and children's books. I also provide self-publishing services. RESUMÉ WRITING is an odd hidden talent of mine, perhaps because I’ve done my own so many times AND, with my strong IT background, I understand how to feed the job search engines and HR automated resumé filters what they want which leads to your resumé getting past the first and second (HR staff) gatekeepers for the positions you seek. I am also quite talented at writing resumés for career changers, figuring out how to leverage past skills and make them applicable to a new job or field. CHRISTIAN/FAITH-BASED WRITING is an under-served niche which, I believe, can greatly benefit from knowledgeable and talented editors and writers to help spread the good news of Jesus Christ in these troubled times. Along the same lines are books of encouragement, so needed in difficult times. CHILDREN'S BOOKS are great. I love writing and reading well-written and engaging children's books, not only for my own pleasure but for sharing the love of reading with our children. So important. It makes children better writers to read well-written stories meant for them. I've spent considerable time working with children and adolescents and appreciate the time and effort that writers put into their labors of love for kids. SELF-PUBLISHING: I also assist my customers with formatting their works for publication. Many writers have the motivation for writing but not the nuts and bolts of professional writing, layout, design, and self-publishing. This is where I shine. And where I can help you elevate your message to the professional, publishable level to reach as many people as possible. Rather than compete with a large pool of talented people for the massive amount of generic editing/writing jobs, I am choosing to use my talents to collaborate with good people who have a story to tell -- be it a book, words to uplift or encourage, or a resumé which is a story of YOU -- and a desire to make the world a kinder and more beautiful place. The world needs it now more than ever. On a technical level, I my goals are: - Write clear, elegant, crisp, and concise prose. - Don't be boring. Don't let your message get lost in cluttered writing. Don't make people think. - Let your ideas to flow seamlessly in clear, fluid, connected sentences without distracting your readers with poor grammar, punctuation, typos, or confusing jargon. - Don't put your readers to sleep with overused phrases, flat sentence structure, unnecessary words, or formulaic styles. - Don't want to make your readers work hard to grasp your meaning: long paragraphs, run-on sentences, weak verbs, flowery words, poor layout, and other common mistakes.
