My fiance and I had a wonderful experience shooting with Zareth of ZADesignz. She was extremely professional from the time I contacted her, all the way up til I received the photos. Her turn-around time is also super quick for those who like nearly instant gratification (such as myself)! The images turned out beautifully, and I'm so proud to share them with our friends and family.

We hired Zareth to take some family portraits of our family. We wanted natural looking, photojournalistic shots. Before our photo session she asked exactly for what we wanted. I had seen some samples of her work, so I was sure of some of the shots I wanted but I knew she would also do her part to capture the best moments. We were very happy with our pictures. We loved each and every one of them.
I highly recommend Zareth for any event: wedding, engagement or portraits. She does an amazing job and a great professional.

    Great experience!
We used ZA Designz for our engagement session, and Zareth was very professional and the photos came out amazing. She was very comforting and patient, which helped us because we were slightly nervous about our first photo shoot. The retouched photos made a big difference and she was able to make the photos look like very professional photos. She was even able to remove my purse from the photo through retouching. We highly recommend her services, and she was affordable as well.

Zareth definitely provides quality photos for brides on a budget. The editing is perfect and she provided the photos within a few days. I will truly cherish my photos for years! I will recommend her to all my bride to be friends.

Both my fiance and I worked with Zareth for our engagement shoot, this past weekend! I happen to be the kind of person that always has a vision, and knows exactly what she wants to the tee. I was so pleased to see that Zareth was able to capture my vision for our shoot PERFECTLY! We communicated via email regularly to exchange ideas so that way the day of, everything would run smoothly. And that is exactly what happened. I was a little worried that we would have very few good pictures since our shoot was at night in D.C. and the lighting was not all that great. But it was so nice to see how we ended up having an array of 'favorites'. Her editing skills are on point! Our pictures look natural, vibrant and flawless...and the quality is superb! And it was great to be able to see our pictures the very next day! Both my fiance and I are excited and happy to work with Zareth for our wedding! Can't wait to see all that she will capture on our special day!

I used Zareth's services for an engagement session. She was fantastic! Very professional and helped my fiance and I get comfortable in front of the camera.

We did this session for two reasons. The first was because we wanted to design our own save the date - which she did a PHENOMENAL job of. She is a graphic designer, and will go above and beyond to get you what you want.

The second reason we wanted the session to do the session before the wedding was to get the kind of pictures we would want at our wedding - which she will be shooting as well. We got some really great pictures of us at the engagement session, and can't wait to see what she captures at the wedding!

I recommend her without hesitation to any bride, especially the budget conscious bride - a great value for the work provided :)

Zareth was a fabulous photographer and I couldn't wait to write this review. She was not just on time, but early and prepared. She was generous with her time and had already taken initiative to get the shots I wanted. A non intrusive, helpful, calm, and well mannered photographer, Zareth was a pleasure to work with and I recommend her highly for your wedding!

Zareth is a great photographer. She gives you exactly what you ask for. She did not take photos for a wedding or an engagement session, but she did do a portrait session for me. She puts life into the pictures and makes them look incredible. She is affordable and flexible, which works because people have different needs for their pictures. Most photographers overlook some details, but Zareth doesn't; Zareth is careful about everything in the picture. It is her graphic designer skills that allow her to deliver to her customers such high quality work. I'm very thankful for the work she did in my pictures and I am sure that she will deliver the same quality in the pictures she takes for others. I love my pictures. That's why I highly recommend Zareth Acosta as a photographer.

Question and answer

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. Well it is important for me to know where the wedding will be taking place, how many guests you'll have, and whether you will allow me to use your photos for my online portfolio. The more specific you are in your inquiry, the better and faster I can help. Also, know your budget. If you have a limited budget, let me know, and I can customize a package for your special day. I charge a travel fee, so if your wedding will be taking place more than two hours away from my residence, I would suggest finding a local photographer.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I don't charge extra for photo retouching. I use special software to create beautiful special effects, and it's included in the price you pay!

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I love weddings, and I love capturing the essence of the wedding day. From people's expressions to the little details, photographing a wedding is not work, it's a great experience, and it's always a blessing to be part of it.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. Q: What is your style?
A: I lean towards photojournalism; however, I feel that traditional poses are needed for the perfect mix. They won’t be stiff, or boring. You can have beautiful poses in the right setting, and with the right vibe. Take a look at my portfolio so you know what I mean.

Q: If I select your services, will you be the photographer?
A: Yes, if you book me for your wedding, I will be the photographer. I may use an assistant photographer for bigger wedding receptions.

Q: How long does it take to see the images after the wedding?
A: I send you the proofs on the next business day.

Q: What is the next step after I see the proof images?
A: You can now look through them and choose the photos to be retouched. The amount will be specified in the contract. Once you know which ones you want, you can send me a list with the photos' names, and I will start retouching your photos. Your photos are usually ready in 4- 6 weeks, depending on my work load. I like taking my time with the retouching, so that you LOVE your photos.

Q: Do we get a high resolution DVD of the retouched photographs?
A:Yes, they are included with all packages.

Q: Do you do special effects processing or use Photoshop actions?
A: Yes I do. All photos require different kind of retouching like color corrections, cropping, airbrushing, and blemish removal. I also add special effects using special software.

Q: How do you conduct yourself at weddings? What is your approach?
A: I don’t interfere with the natural flow of the wedding. I keep my interaction with the bride and groom to a minimum. The only time I usually give directions is during the formal photographs, to keep it organized.

Q: If I book you for my wedding, will you photograph any other event that day?
A: I will only focus on your event.

Q: Is the engagement session necessary?
A: It is completely up to you. I think having a photo session before the day of the wedding can be a relaxing moment for you and your future spouse. Also, you get to interact with me, and decide to use me for your wedding. You can use these photos during the reception, make a slideshow, or even use them for your invitations.

Q: Do you require a deposit?
A: Yes, to make sure I do not book anything else on the day of your wedding. To book me as your photographer, 30% of the wedding package is needed. You can pay with cash, money order or personal check. The retainer is non-refundable.
Q: Do you have special payment plans?
A: Yes. The deposit is required for booking me. All the money is due on the same day as the wedding.

Q: What kind of prints will you give me in the album?
A: The standard prints are printed on Fujicolor Crystal Archive Paper, and you can choose between matte and glossy finish. For metallic prints, you will get your prints printed on Kodak Professional ENDURA Metallic paper.

Q: What types of photographs do you take and what moments do you capture?
A: I take everything from getting ready, to the toss of the bouquet, to cutting the cake, etc. I keep my camera on to capture everything as it happens so you don't miss anything!

Q: What if I don’t want any prints with a package?
A: I can customize a package to include only my time and travel. Retouching is always included, unless you instruct me not to. If you have something different in mind, feel free to contact me.

Q: Do you travel out of state for weddings?
A: Yes I do! I love to travel. Contact me for a quote.

Q: How many photos do you take in a wedding?
A: I can take from 2000 to 3000 photos in an average wedding. I shoot in continuous mode, so that you can choose the best photo from 2-3 of the same pose.

Q: Can some photos be in sepia, or black and white? Or do you only offer color prints?
A: I can do sepia, black and white, or color. It’s up to you, and you can choose which to be in what format. There is no extra fee for sepia or black and white.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. When you requests 3 hours of photography, the photographer actually spends 7-9 hours on your event. How? 3 hours of actual photographing, 3 hours retouching the photos, 3 hour uploading photos to print, making the contract, initial meeting with client, putting together an album, etc. So when a photographer charges $200 an hour, it's actually a lot less per hour. Please consider this when you think the photographer overcharges.

Q. Write your own question and answer it.

A. What would make me the best choice for your wedding photography?
After getting married myself, I realized that the only thing that lasts beyond one of the most important days of you life is the photography. I have been to many weddings, and I have seen many wedding albums...where the photos where dull, cropped wrong, too dark, too light, and bride's face wasn't flawless, and many important parts of the wedding were not even there! And I thought... did they love their photos? When the bride looks back at her photos, does she regret not hiring someone that payed attention to those details? Maybe she wishes she had hired someone who knew more about lighting, composition, professional retouching, etc. I beg future brides to get to know their photographer before hiring. Look at the finish product, and the quality of the photos. I know many photographers who charge $250 and hour and don't even retouch the photos for their brides. It's important to know what you get when you pay for something.
I love weddings and I love photography. I always have. So when I get hired for a wedding, I'm as excited as I can be. You want someone who will be flexible, who will there ON TIME, someone who is reliable, and who will make sure that your photos are the best they can be. AND who won't charge you an eye for it.
