I provide the tools, skills, talent, and relationships you need to produce your next print or digital project.
I provide a client with organizing and managing a publication project (periodical or larger project) from start to finish. I will often edit the materials myself, but may recruit a colleague who is more familiar with the topic. I take care of design and proof productions; managing contributor revisions; building relationships between the client and local printers and presses; and provide my clients with support and guidance through the post-production/marketing process, including the option of web content management.
I get to know my clients personally, meeting them wherever they feel most comfortable. I believe clear and efficient communication is key to keeping production schedules, well, on schedule. I clearly explain to my clients the production process and provide them with materials that will easily guide them through each step in the workflow. I guarantee they will never need to compromise quality to meet deadlines or mail dates.
My general rate for this service is $45.00-$105.00 per hour plus the cost of production depending on the complexity of the project and the level of customization based on standard desktop publishing templates and unique designs.
A. I would say, check their references and ask for a resume. I would also look at their rates. I am a young business woman, and I recently started my business a couple of years ago. Thus, my rates are cheaper than some of my competitors. However, my resume shows that I have the knowledge and experience to produce a professional, customized publication in a timely manner.
A. Deadlines are everything! Many of my clients need a bit of coaching when it comes to meeting hard deadlines. Yes, there is a bit of room in most produciton schedules to cushion for any delays. However, that's something the production manager should handle. The customer should never decide on there own where he or she may have an extra day or two....or three...
A. What's your track record? May I see some of your work or call any of your clients for a reference. In my business, knowing past customer satisfaction and the quality of what we produce are the two most important things you should know.
