Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Make sure that the teacher is experienced. Make sure that the teacher is an experience performer as well. The teacher should also be able to convince you that he will be teaching at that location for years to come, otherwise you may stand a chance of having to start with new teachers over and over.
If you have not bought your instrument yet, wait until you see me first. I can give you some good advice and save you money. I am also willing to meet you at a local music store to help you with your purchase.
Make sure that the teacher will be able to teach the style and level you need. Share some names of groups that you like and make sure that the teacher can help you reaching your goal!

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. YouTube lessons don't offer the personal attention you need to learn how to play an instrument.
Your local music store assigning might assign different instructors often. the reason why is because some teachers use a music store as a launch pad for their teaching careers. Others end up moving to another city as soon as a better paid gig comes along.

Is the place were I will be taking lessons quite and conductive to concentrate in getting a good lesson? Or will I be disturbed by near by other students learning another instrument nearby? In other words, in a music store there are several little rooms next to each other. It is hard to concentrate while hearing other sounds coming from the next studio.
