My experience with Michelle was very positive.

She did an excellent job cleaning and organizing and my very small, cluttered and disorganized home. She has a very creative, helpful and supportive energy, which made working with her easy. As I was going through old boxes, she suggested that I throw some things away. When I explained to her that some of the items had sentimental value, she understood and gave me suggestions regarding how to properly store them. She did not make me feel badly about wanting to keep them and that was important. I have a medical condition and she gave me ideas as to how to design my house so that it is conducive to my well-being. This was also important because it means that she organizes and designs based on the “whole person”. She listens to you to find out what you want/need and she makes that happen. Ms. Spiziri is also flexible because I asked her to stay beyond the hours that we had agreed upon and she did so, when she could have easily said “no” and gone home. She has a great eye for decorating as well. After she organized and cleaned, she moved some things around and it looked like I had a brand new kitchen.

I originally did not want to do anything with my bedroom, but she did such a good job with the rest of the house, that I have changed my mind. I look forward to working with her again very soon.

Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. organizing kitchens and closet areas and detailed cleaning from the first time and follow up bi-weekly mmaintenance. Grocery shopping and food prep are catching on as well.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Hire for value, not on price.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. I think it's important to ask to meet with the service provider in person. getting to know the owner or manager sets the stage for a good relationship. All or any questions regarding the care of one's home is open. Not all home service professionals provide the same level of quality so asking about detail is important as long as it's important to the home owner.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. Because we actually CARE about your home and your personal items. More than a cleaning company we are a whole home a wellness business. Our job is to take the stress out of your life by insuring you come home to a well home. We are not in a rush to the next home. We are extremely detailed and thorough, always tidy and use green products. We "do" windows and love your pets. Will do your laundry and put things away; standard. Also standard are baseboards, window sills, and tidying. First class all the way. You might even find a treat or two waitng for you when you arrive.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Exceeeding customers expectations.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. First about my helpers. My employee's are aware, conscious, smart, and like minded to Type A's core values. We are insured and bonded for your benefit. We are all professional and team players. I hire for talent and ambition. We are all in this business for the long haul, love to serve and help people by taking some of the daily stress out of the way, and and are huge believers in providing excellent customer service.

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. I once had a customer (still a customer) mention to me that if it were not for our help, that they might not have had the opportunity to have guests in their home. You see, this customer is a very busy professional whohad difficulty managing their home; chronic disorganization plagued this customer. We went in, cleaned, organized, tidyed, and now we maintain. Now this customer has peace and calm in their home, and enjoys the new freedom as a result of Type A's work.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. I have a degree in Fine Art from Maryland Institute, College of Art. I used to teach art in public schools, worked on set desin for t.v. shows and as a faux finisher, woked in gourmet food prep and catering as well during school and after graduation. I have been a group fitness instructor since the mid 90's and currently teach at the MAC in Timonoium, Maryland. I worked in corporate America in sales and marketing for 12 years before starting home wellness business, I owned an art gallery and am still an active artist in Baltimore.

Coming soon is www.homemattersmaryland.com; the mothership for Type A and all its divisions.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. Ever since I was a young person I've had a knack for detail and organization and a creative flair in general. While in college and even after graduation I worked as a fitness professional, a caterer, organized my own home and helped others rid themselves of clutter, and even taught art k-12 where planning and organization was crucial to teaching and learning.

TYPE A was conceived after years of having personally too many disappointed results with LARGER cleaning companies. Not only were the results less than satisfactory for me personally, but I had to CLEAN and pick up before the service even arrived! I needed help where these larger cleaning companies wouldn’t even touch! I needed my dishes washed, my laundry folded, and help with tidying up the place. My work schedule was so busy that these tasks were the things in addition to the BASICS with which I needed help. I realize that home is a wonderful place to be especially when everything feels "right". I have taken my years of life/work experience and have wound them into a business centered on home wellness.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. In the fitness realm I am always catching up on the latest fitness and education, staying current in my certification and CPR. I am a member of NAPO for organizing and a member of the Chesapeake Sustainable Buisiness Alliance, practicing "green" alternatives and at home sustainable approaches for conscious and responsible living.

Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?

A. My business is very niche. We provide a total home wellness package if so desired by the customer. We believe that home wellness begins with a clean and organized home followed up with personal health wellness which is where we come in and provide personal chef meals and buddy home fitness. We provide green services and support eco friendly practices as well within customers homes.
