FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Absolutely. Starting in 2013 it is now required to maintain your license. Not to mention I took classes for framing, wiring, and blue print reading in college. I started working in construction at age 11 with my friends parents Sheetrock company and have been in the trades ever since. I enjoy learning new products and procedures. I attend annual seminars and take classes regularly to stay current with my education in the industry.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
A friend recommended it to me. He was a new inspector at the time and sometimes would call me to ask questions about things he found in homes. With my knowledge and experience, it was an easy career choice.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
A home inspection takes around three hours for a small single family home. The bigger the home the longer it will take. Be wary of inspectors who take much less time providing what we call a "drive by inspection". There's no substitute for quality work. Don't be in a hurry.
