Question and answer

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. At Whole Yoga Healthcare, we strive to make yoga and pilates as accessible as possible to as many students as possible. We offer a number of different types of classes, from the deep relaxation and stretch of restorative yoga to the challenging core work of pilates, and we always welcome beginners. Most of our classes do not require reservations or long-term commitments, and we keep our prices as low as possible. In addition, most classes are an hour long so that they can be fit into a busy schedule.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. People are often afraid they're "too old," "too unfit," or "too inflexible" to do yoga. But literally ANYONE can benefit from yoga! Your practice might not look like mine or like your neighbor's--in fact, it shouldn't! Even in a class setting, yoga is a wonderfully individual practice. Simply taking a few moments to breathe mindfully and check in with your body might sometimes be all you have time for, or all your body can accommodate, and that's fine. A good instructor can always offer options for making your yoga practice easier or more challenging.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. All of our instructors are certified, and most have at least an "RYT200," meaning that they have completed a minimum of 200 hours of training at a yoga school registered with the Yoga Alliance. RYTs are required to complete continuing education to maintain their certifications, which are renewed every 3 years. However, yoga isn't just a "job" for us--we truly enjoy what we do and continually seek to deepen our own personal practices and knowledge because we love yoga!
