A. We do mostly residential and commercial garage doors.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Meeting people and having them smile upon completion of the job.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. Most customers find it refreshing when the owner of the Company shows up when their door is being serviced or to offer a quote. I will typically tell them that I am not only the owner, but a former technician with over 16 years in the business. I have worked for many of the major door companies in the Maryland, Northern, VA and D. C. area. I know what type of competition is out there and also the prices that comes along with the major door companies. GDTS is a solution provider -- with reasonable prices.

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. All of our experiences have been great. We don't have a favorite yet.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. There are better prices and service providers, other than the big companies. Give the little man a try -- you'll be surprised.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. By accident. A friend invited me to work for his company over 16 years ago-- the rest is history.

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. We are proud of all of our jobs.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. We keep up on the business and product development side of the garage door business. Most recently customers are interested in hi-speed doors.

Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?

A. Nothing in the pipeline.

Q. Describe your most recent project, what it involved, how much it cost, and how long it took.

A. We are currently working on our most recent project and will update Thumbtack upon completion.

A. No complicated pricing systems here. We offer great products from brand names (Wayne Dalton, Amarr, Clopay) for great prices.

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. I would suggest for them to do an internship if they were new to the business.
