Heather is just amazing - that's my little girl that you see in the red dress. She can take a child who is moments from the tantrum of her life to a pose more precious than words can describe right before your eyes. Her prices are very fair, and considering I live in a different state, her appointments are super convenient.
I would highly, highly, highly recommend that you call Heather. You won't regret it. I have several friends who made the same decision I did, and we all have beautiful photos to cherish for the rest of our lives. It's worth every moment...every penny.

Question and answer

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I love to create images that make the people who see them, feel an emotion. When I capture a newborn image, I want the person who see's that image to feel a sense of innocene, love and security. When I capture an image of a child, I want you to hear them laugh,I want you to feel like a kid again. When I share my images of families, I want you to see the love and feel their connections, to hear them tell their story. I want you to feel the love between a couple, the look in their eyes and the emotions on their face...whether it be a newly engaged couple or a set of grandparents that have been together for 50 years. Memories are what keep us grounded, what remind us of who we are and of the people we love. And I love being part of freezing a memory, so when you look back on your photos in 10 years, you remember exactly how you felt at that exact moment.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. What should we wear?

My rule of thumb is, dress in anything that makes you feel good, is comfortable and reflects your personality. Try to avoid black clothing and too much white (especially dresses or shirts). Solid colors work the best.

If you select to wear prints, make sure they are small and subtle. Large prints and bold patterns tend to take center stage and take the focus off of the person/people in the photo. This includes too many stripes.

Children tend to cooperate better when they are comfortable so try to keep it simple. Newborns and young infants photograph best in bare skin or only a diaper.

Any uncertainties, please feel free to get in touch with me. Also feel free to bring multiple changes of clothing if you wish.

Q. Write your own question and answer it.

A. Do you have a studio or are you an on-location photographer?

Both! I have a small studio in my home that primarily get used for newborn or winter sessions but most of my clients prefer outdoor, creative photo sessions. I have a list of some beautiful spots and I am always available for suggestions. I am also available to bring my studio set-up to my clients homes as well.

To give you some ideas, some favorites are:
*open fields
*urban settings
*historic buildings
*old barns
*lakes
*local parks

The more creative and unique, the better!

**Please be aware that outdoor sessions may need to be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. I will check the forecast and let you know as soon as possible if a sessioin will need to be rescheduled.
