Learn to play guitar with an accomplished classical, jazz and rock guitarist with a passion for teaching! I've been playing for 18 years and teaching for 15, so I've picked up a few secrets along the way. I use a very encouraging teaching style and support the student's musical interests and goals.
I can teach all ability levels, from beginners to advanced players. I create individualized lesson plans for each student and make it a fun experience. I teach almost any style of music: classic to modern rock, heavy metal, blues, R&B, pop, classical, jazz, folk and music theory. I teach you how to practice to reach your goals.
I've studied with some great teachers, like Ray Chester from The Peabody Conservatory (who I still study under), Michael Smith in New York while attending the Brooklyn College Conservatory of Music, Robert Newman from Philadelphia while at Muhlenberg College, and Mark Elf out of New York City.
I've been involved with the rock bands Mornin' Gloryz and St. Paul and have performed in Baltimore, New Jersey and New York City. I've also played all around Baltimore with The Reisterstown Jazz Ensemble. I currently perform locally on my own.
I offer lessons in my home studio in Reisterstown and at studios in Hunt Valley and Ellicott City.
