Born and raised in the coal region of Northeast Pennsylvania, I moved to Washington, D.C. after college and fell head over heels for our nation's capital. I am obsessed with all things romantic and anthropologie-esque (yes, I totally just made up that word!), capturing life through photographs, the food network, and my precious pup Sampson.

In today's digital age, I believe charging clients for overpriced prints to be outdated. Personally, I like to share most of my favorite photos with my friends and family through email or social networking sites such as Facebook, usually printing just a few to keep on my desk or to hang in my home.

I want my clients to have, at reasonable prices, complete freedom to share their images (digital or traditional) however they please. Therefore, my pricing structure is based on talent, time, and work, rather than by how many 8x10s I can sell.

Question and answer

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I like to get to know you while we shoot. What do you do for fun? What’s your favorite restaurant? Learning about you is part of the process because the more relaxed you are with me, the more your photos will represent your personality. Above anything else, I want you to have fun! If we have fun, you’re sure to get some great images that you’ll love to share with friends and family.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Doing something I love that brings other people happiness. My greatest satisfaction is when my clients love their pictures. It is such an honor to know that I created something that they will have sitting on their desk at work everyday.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. What to wear?
My golden rule is to wear something that (1) defines you/your family, (2) you love, and (3) you are comfortable in. Solid colors are always preferred for outdoor sessions. Some pattern is acceptable but if it clashes with everyone else in the shoot (i.e. fiancée, children, husband), it may be a distraction. I would avoid logos (unless your whole family wants to wear their favorite football jersey) and dark colors. Are you preppy? hipster? fashionista? sporty? Photography is really all about showing your personality and style.
