I recently used Thumbtack to find a contractor to clean our pool patio and side pathways. and clean and restain our deck. Rob Poole was extremely professional, easy to work with and did a great job for a very reasonable cost, and within the time frame estimated. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Reliant Solutions and will use them again.

Superb, quick service. Rob went out of his way to get our job done quickly and well. He power-washed, stained, and sealed our deck and made it look new again. I highly recommend his services and would use him again!

Townhouse looked very clean afterward. Took the time to wash down the front door as well. Lasted approximately 1.5 hrs. He was very polite and down to earth. He was able to fit me in to his schedule even though my hours for availability were very slim. Thanks for a job well done.

Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Deck cleaning and sealing is the most common job that we perform for our clients.

Wood replacement and roof and siding cleaning follows closely!

Q. Describe three recent jobs you've completed.

A. Cleaning a slate patio that was neglected for years. It looks almost new again!

Cleaning and Staining a 6ft high decorative privacy fence.

Sanding a 15 year old deck smooth again. Staining it, cleaning the painted white rails and replacing some of the rotten posts.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Ask for referrals when you get an estimate.

Do a little research online to get an idea of what the project entails before hiring a professional.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. I would want to know the difference between an acrylic sealer and an oil sealer. An oil sealer soaks into the wood deeper and does not leave a film. An acrylic sealer mainly sits on the wood and leaves a film.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. They should ask how long the people coming out to do the work have been doing it. They should also ask what chemicals are used.
