Introduction: I am a classically-trained artist and teacher. I am a professor at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, DC and a part-time instructor at the Art League of Alexandria, VA. I teach drawing, painting and sculpture. I also teach privately in my studio in Silver Spring, MD. I have been doing it all my life, so I have lots of experience with students of all levels, including absolute beginners.
I am passionate about art, and I convey it to my students. I am also very interested in art history, so that plays a big role in how I teach. I use a lot of references and examples from other artists. I am serious about teaching, but I am also a friendly and open-minded person. I always try to create a good atmosphere in my class, so that students are not intimidated. I have a professionally equipped spacious studio at my house, where I teach private lessons.
