HomeTown Heroes provides training in a wide range of health and safety classes, including CPR, AED, First-Aid, babysitting safety and blood borne pathogen.
Classes are offered for healthcare professionals, corporate or small businesses, and families (including new parents). Our CPR and First-Aid classes are approved by the Maryland State Department of Education Office of Childcare for child care providers.
Our friendly staff will work with you to determine what program is right for you based on the special needs and hazards of your business or family. Small to mid-sized classes can be taught in the comfort of your home or business. We also accommodate larger classes in venues throughout the Delmarva area.
Our instructors are all active paramedics, EMTs, firefighters and emergency department nurses with years of real world experience. These highly-trained and professional instructors are available at your convenience, and can schedule your class during the day, at night, or on the weekends.
A. There is no "common job" in CPR. Every class (just like every emergency) is different. Our classes are custom tailored to the needs of your company and/or family.
Doctors, nurses, PAs, firefighters, EMTs/paramedics, and police officers all rely on us to teach them the life-saving skills they will use when it TRULY matters. We will teach the same skills to your employees or family. Perfect for new parents, too!
A. Make sure that the company teaching your CPR class will provide you with the proper equipment to perform the life-saving skills they are teaching you. "Mouth-to-mouth" is gross! We as an industry no longer teach it. We will teach you to use a CPR mask instead to create a barrier between you and the patient. What use is knowing CPR if you aren't given a mask to use when you need it?
A. Our classes are taught by real-world ACTIVE firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, and emergency department nurses.
A. Saving lives! I teach 2,000 people a year how to save the life of a coworker, friend, or family member. I have 15 other instructors who teach almost as many classes as I do. Rarely does a month go by that I don't get a letter from one of our students who successfully performed CPR on a friend or loved one.
A. Where and how long are the classes?
We will schedule your class either at our facility in Sparks, MD or at your home or business. CPR classes are about 4 hours. Add another hour and a half if you want to learn first-aid, too.
