When I had reached out to Melody, it was with less than 1 month left before my big day. I had a big plan orchestrated that had so many moving pieces - this required Melody to arrive an hour early, get on the ferry to Diamond Islands in Portland, hide on the boat until we boarded, and blend in before the big moment. If I say that Melody wowed us all on that day, it would be an understatement. Her willingness to go out of her way to accommodate my big plans was no big deal to her - she even was critical in helping me plan the moment! My (now) fiance and I tend to be a little awkward and uncomfortable when it comes to taking pictures. When shooting during the engagement and after, it was almost like that awkwardness was gone. It felt like a family member was there with us taking photos and everything was cool, calm, and casual. The level of energy she brought, her suggestions, and her investment in our happiness were all over the top. She wanted everything to be perfect, and it was. When we received the virtual photo album, we were blown away. The amount of value I received from this job was unprecedented. Unfortunately, we've since moved away from the Portland area, but we told Melody, and we insist, that if we're ever in the Portland area and need a photographer, we won't look elsewhere. I know that Melody would make us feel comfortable, bring the best level of energy, and deliver a finished product that far exceeds our expectations. I give my HIGHEST recommendation to anyone that needs a photographer, for any event, to please reach out and discuss with Melody. You won't find anyone else that puts the same level of attention, energy, and passion into your project. A sample of some pictures that we love are attached below.

Melody took family and individual portraits of our family for a 50th wedding anniversary gathering. Melody was so great to work with for my branding photos! She consulted with me beforehand to work on a mood board together of the types of photos I wanted to achieve and she nailed it! Im not the most comfortable in front of the camera and Melody made it so easy. I highly recommend working with her!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The most important thing to me about your photoshoot is YOU! My process includes discussing you and your vision before hand and sending colors, images, and other visual inspiration back and forth to fully maximize communication!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a background in graphic design and visual communication which carries over into my work - you will notice a lot of bright colors and closely framed compositions. I have 12 years of photography experience and have taken countless photography classes, courses, and intensives.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have been taking photographs since I was 10 years old. I started doing portrait work in 2017, and have grown to love it more than any other type of creative work I've ever done.
