Introduction: Every job matters. We are honored when you open your special event to .KAM.ography. Many events are personal and an invitation to capture those once-in-a-lifetime moments mean the world to us. Even if we are just shooting corporate headshots, we hope those photos will drive additional business for you and lead to more success. What I like most is capturing memories which can be viewed many years down the road. In the summer of 2008, I received a traumatic brain injury in an auto accident. From that, I have lost many of my past memories. Photos have been one of the most crucial mediums for little sparks of remembrance of my forgotten past. I had the amazing opportunity to work with .KAM.ography on a 2012 power sports calendar project & Kristi is one of the BEST photographers to work with. She is friendly and makes you feel comfortable shooting without even having to try. She goes above and beyond to work around you and make the shoot goes as stress free and smoothly as possible. To me, a great photographer is one where you can preview the raw photos right off the camera and they look amazing as though they could be the finished product themselves, that was how my raw photos were. I have and will continue to recommend Kristi to anyone looking for a photographer and I am excited to work with her in the future. .KAM.ography is absolutely AMAZING in all aspects!!!!!!

I had the pleasure of working with KAM.ography for a calendar shoot promoting LaBaron's Powersports in 2011. Kristi was really friendly and easy to work with. I had never done a photo shoot like that before and she made me feel really comfortable and coached me through the process. I was extremely impressed by the end result. All of her work is outstanding and I look forward to working with her in the future.

Kristi was good at the actual wedding but we didn't receive half the photos that we wanted that were on our shot list. I didn't even get one of me with my bridesmaids. I know the pictures were taken but we never received ones we really wanted. There's none from dinner, the cake cutting, the garter toss, the first dance, I am very disappointed in the lack of pictures we received. I have tried contacting Kristi for 2 weeks about the lack of photos and have yet to get an answer from her.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When first speaking to a new customer for weddings or special events, we strive to reduce the stress in hiring. These events are extremely exciting but the stress of booking everything can be quite negative. Many times, individuals are not knowledgeable because they've never had to hire a photographer before. We provide free consultations over the phone and in person to answer all questions and provide support where needed. When it comes to commercial photography, we understand business. Work done quick and efficient is the way to go. At .KAM.ography, we have a mobile studio to come to you. Whether it be products or portraits, we are flexible to meet your needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am self-taught with professional training under well established Michigan photographers and through working with a Detroit event photography for a few years. Combined, I have over a decade of professional photography experience. Second photographers hired are required to have at least a couple years of professional experience. - Kristi Owner & Lead Photographer
How did you get started doing this type of work?
When I was young, around 14 or so, my father started to become interested in photography. I was the tomboy so my dad and I were (and still are) quite close. I strived to be just like him. Of course, him and I were and have always been quite competitive so with that, him and I were off on a race to see who could do what. He focused on lightning photography so I did other nature photography. Over time, my dad became interested in other things and lost his photography obsession but I held on to my love it. I was published when I was 18 in the UK Reptile Care Magazine with five photos in a featured article. The thrill of that recognition fueled my fire. From there, I went and worked for an event photography company in Detroit for a couple years and ended up creating .KAM.ography in March 2011. - Kristi Owner & Lead Photographer
